Town’s greatest ever defender Kevin Beattie says fellow centre-half Tommy Smith extending his Blues contract until the summer of 2016 is a huge boost for everyone at Portman Road. Beattie has always been a fan of the New Zealand international, who deservedly carried off most of the club’s 2012/13 player of the year awards.

Norwich City have confirmed that keeper Lee Camp will not be offered a new contract at Carrow Road. The 28-year-old Northern Ireland international was targeted by the Blues before he joined the Canaries on a short-term deal in January and has already been linked with Town this summer.

Town’s U15s lost on a penalty shoot-out to Tottenham’s youngsters in their annual showcase game at Portman Road. Striker Sam Ford had put the Blues 2-0 in front with a well-taken goal in either half but the visitors struck back to even the scores at 2-2 by the full-time whistle and won the shoot-out 4-2.
